A handful of health for the whole family

Sometimes it feels like no matter how healthy we eat, we still lack energy, strength, and essential nutrients — in short, our body is out of balance.

A body in imbalance is more vulnerable to challenges such as weakened immunity, unbalanced nutrition, accumulated toxins, irregular and nutrient-poor meals, and stress. All of this is part of our everyday life, and its effects are felt by every member of the family. With the help of natural superfoods, it’s not only easy to restore balance to the body but also to strengthen it and encourage self-regeneration.

Nutritionists often emphasize green (super)foods as complete due to their rich nutritional value. It’s important to note that foods native to the region we live in — in other words, locally sourced — are more bioavailable. One such time-honored green vegetable, now recognized as a green superfood, is young green wheat (Triticum aestivum). This plant has a long tradition as high-quality, effective food. Today, we know it’s a complete natural source of vitamins, minerals, enzymes, amino acids, and chlorophyll. It’s also a powerful detoxifier and a rich source of antioxidants.

The dark green leaves of wheat, before the plant develops grains and turns into golden stalks, are exceptionally nutrient-dense. That’s why they are harvested at this key moment of growth, when the plant is at its peak and packed with vitamins, minerals, enzymes, amino acids, and chlorophyll. This is also why it’s used as a functional superfood — in fact, it started being dehydrated into powder, capsules, and tablets in the USA as early as the 1970s.

The popularity of young green wheat is growing – and here’s why:

Just 3 grams of dehydrated young green wheat powder (the recommended daily dose) is equivalent to 500 grams of organically grown fruits and vegetables. It contains:

– 5x more iron than spinach

– 3x more beta-carotene than carrots

– 5x more vitamin C than oranges

– 6x more vitamin K than spinach

– 2x more folic acid than spinach

– 3x more vitamin E than almonds

– 5x more calcium than milk

Just one a day makes a difference

When it comes to young green wheat, priority should be given to varieties grown under controlled conditions, with an emphasis on local origin. The wheatgrass used in Liquid Sun is grown in the mountainous region of Gorska Hrvatska, following organic farming principles. The soil in this area is exceptionally rich in minerals, which enhances the plant’s power thanks to its ability to absorb a maximum amount of minerals from the ground.

Special care is also given to processing, using raw food methodology, with slow dehydration at temperatures up to 40°C, in order to preserve its full value — as close as possible to its fresh state. The wheatgrass are hand-cut and harvested precisely during the peak of their vegetative development and strength — adding yet another layer of power to Liquid Sun.
